Literature Text

Here I am, Lord
Broken on my knees
Seems like my favorite place to be

So Lord,
Heal me once again
Teach me to yield to the potter's hands

I'm struggling
It's true
And the only place to turn is to you

Give me courage
Lord, I pray
To stay beside you every day

Pry my fingers
Off of this
This held piece of breaking sin

I know
That I cannot
Let go of it on my own

Here I am, Lord
Broken on my knees
Seems like my favorite place to be

So Lord,
Heal me once again
Teach me to yield to the potter's hands
So, in light of certain people saying certain things in critique ( and I thank you who did for speaking out and calling me on this) of one of my other poems I posted recently, I did a lot of soul searching. I found that what they said was correct. I have been holding on to things that I don't want to hold on to. I also have been doing some good praying. This came out of that praying. It started out as part of my prayer. Then I decided to write it down.

I know that it is going to be hard. Letting go of certain things that are bad for me. But now that I have seen it, I want to change. I appologize to all who read the past three posts, especially to those who I really hurt with them. I am truely sorry.

And so this is my prayer. God Bless.

I hope you don't mind, but I may read this at a retreat I'm helping to run this weekend. We were asked to find poems of prayer to read to the retreatants, and this...this is incredible. It's really a great example of what people should do.
